Background and purpose

There was a Patrons' Club in Ealing Acton from 1993 - 1999 which was very popular but became difficult to sustain when the Party went into Opposition. However, after winning the Borough of Ealing in 2006 after 12 years in Opposition, and with Ealing Central and Acton having become a newly created seat, one of the Party's top target seats, it was decided to re- launch the Patrons' Club in February 2008. We now have Angie Bray as Member of Parliament for this conctituency. The main aim of the Patrons' Club is to raise additional funds for the Association, for members to have the opportunity to meet and hear well known speakers and mix with like minded people in convivial surroundings. The club now has over 30 members and we hope the membership continues to grow.

How the Patrons' Club works

Members pay £275 for single membership and £475 for double membership. In return, members are invited to two dinners per annum held at premier London Clubs and other first class venues, and two receptions. These high profile events are free to members and are addressed by political speakers. Speakers have included Shaun Bailey, Andrew Boff AM, John Bowis, ex-London MEP, Justine Greening MP, Daniel, Kawczinski MP, Jonathan Isaby, Eleanor Laing MP and Sir George Young Bt MP. Venues have included the Carlton Club, Courthouse Hotel Kempinski, Reform Club, Ealing Film Studios, Arts Club, RAC Club, and the Wallace Collection.
