A note from our MP

I am honoured and thrilled that the voters living in Ealing and Acton have chosen me to represent them as their MP in Parliament. It is an enormous privilege and a huge responsibility which I now carry, to serve all who live in the Ealing Central and Acton constituency regardless of party allegiance and I look forward to all that that involves.

There are now many important matters to address. The most pressing must be to sort out the economic problems facing the country and tough are being taken while at the same time protecting the most vulnerable in our community. We also need to turn round failing schools and to get young people who find themselves unable to get a job into work. And, we must do everything possible to get our businesses growing again.

Locally I will be continuing to press for an early start to Crossrail improvements including the new station at Ealing Broadway. I will also keep my campaign going to save the A&E departments at both Ealing and Central Middlesex hospitals. The regeneration of Ealing and Acton town centres remains a top priority and I will work with the Labour Council to revitalise without damaging the local character.

The other key issue for all of us is what happens at Heathrow airport. The Conservative Party has made it clear that it will put a stop to the third runway and I shall be urging a speedy announcement on this so that this threat of further blight can be removed once and for all. Once again, I look forward to serving Ealing and Acton well and am always here to help.
